my name is Jacob Uriel.

I have over fifteen years of experience as a criminal trial attorney. I founded Uriel Criminal Defense PC because I wanted to do criminal defense the right way. I have successfully tried many criminal cases in front of juries and judges. I am a former Deputy Bureau Chief at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office in New York City, where I prosecuted all types of crimes ranging from simple drug possessions to murders. I was also an adjunct professor of law at CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice for almost a decade. I left the DA’s office as a specialist in vehicular homicides and trials Still feeling the call of justice, I opened my own Criminal Defense practice to ensure your rights are being preserved and you get a fair chance in a system that can seen and be very daunting and intimidating. I see my job for you not as a shepherd, but as a team member, walking with you every step of the way; teaching you, guiding you and protecting you.

Jacob Uriel has some of the most varied experience of any criminal defense attorney. Like most prosecutors, he did his fair share of arraignments, grand jury presentations and hearings, but unlike most prosecutors, Jacob has successfully tried dozens of cases, has a proven track record of accomplishing exonerations and finding weaknesses in prosecutors’ cases. While most of his cases end up not needing to go to trial, he is always focused on the best outcome for his clients while providing them and their families the support they need.

Jacob Uriel was my lawyer on some very serious gun charges, including claims that shots were fired, and the DA wanted a lot of jail time for me. Jacob worked very hard and got me out much faster than I ever expected. In court he was very smart and always one step ahead of the DA, and even convince a judge to dismiss some of the more serious charges. Because of his work, I got a much better deal. He was professional, honest, and always took time to explain everything to me. I recommend him strongly to anyone who needs a lawyer who really fights for you.
